We all want to know what’s the fastest way to get leads for our MLM business. But the problem is we don’t want to spend a fortune initially and we certainly don’t want to go through a learning curve of 6 months to a year before we finally get leads.

2 years ago I decided to experiment with classified ads. It was easy, cheap and quick.

I started to get leads within the hour after posting my ad.

I couldn’t believe it! Could it be that easy?

Yes…

It’s easy and it works. And what I like about it is you can target the person you are looking for. You don’t have to spend hours on the phone with tire kickers.

Below is an example of what happened this morning…

This morning I posted 2 ads on a classified website. Within a few minutes after posting, two people replied. I called the first one and here was my conversation…

Listen To The Initial Call:

As you could hear, I didn’t connect well enough on the initial call. I was a little bit in a hurry to get off the phone. But at least I qualified him. The danger with not connecting properly (what my friend Tim Sales call “The Greeting”) is that your prospect doesn’t pick-up the phone when you call back.

If people are not answering when you call back, you now know why.

How comes you can’t sell you MLM company’s products online?

Big companies are doing it, you should be able to, shouldn’t you?

Technically, yes.

But there’s a catch.

Most MLM companies provide you with a replicated website and Google doesn’t like that. Google actually doesn’t like replicated content. This is why you can’t get your company’s replicated website ranked on Google.

Also, your company prohibits you from creating your own product website. They want to make sure they control what you say about the product so you and them don’t get in legal problems.

If you’ve been reading my blog for some time, you know that I write about many different subjects. And everytime I pick up the phone, I find a lot of people confused about how to build their business online.

Facebook likes to make changes and not really tell everyone. This is an easy way to get the word out – and currently the only way to assure that everyone can see it.

Have you noticed that you are only seeing updates in your news feed from the same people lately? Have you also noticed that when you post things like status messages, photos and links, the same circle of people are commenting and everyone else seems to be ignoring you?

Don’t worry, everyone still loves you and nobody has intentionally blocked you. The problem is that a large chunk of your friend/fan list can’t see anything you post and here’s why:

The “New Facebook” has a newsfeed setting that by default is automatically set to show ONLY posts from people who you’ve recently interacted with or interacted the most with (which would be limited to the couple of weeks just before people started switching to the new profile). So in other words, for both business and personal pages, unless your friends/fans commented on one of your posts within those few weeks or vice versa – you are now invisible to them and they are invisible to you!!

HERE’S THE FIX: On the homepage click the “Most Recent” title on the right of the News feed, then click on the drop down arrow beside it and select “Edit Options”, click on “Show Posts From” and change the setting to “All Of Your Friends and Pages” (you can also access the “Edit Options” link at the very bottom of the facebook homepage on the right) Note: Business pages do not have a news feed however page owners should adjust the settings on their personal accounts.

The good news is: now you can now view all of your friends and fans again. The bad news is: YOU ARE STILL INVISIBLE to a large portion of your list. You must get the word out to ALL of your friends and fans by inviting them to this event or creating one of your own so they can read the post and adjust their settings. To invite your friends: Click on “Attending” at the top and then you will see an option to invite your friends at the top left. It’s public so everyone who logs onto facebook can view it and even the friends who can’t see your posts WILL see the event invitation. You can also tweet about it, create a blog post or send out an email to your subscribers in hopes of reaching them all.

MLM success stories are looked at as heroes. Are they really? Or are they just following on the same path you are? What if you knew you are one stage away from total success? From reaching all of your dreams, living the lifestyle and having all the money to do the things that are important in your life?

Last year I learned a valuable lesson in my network marketing career as I learned to surf behind a boat. But before I tell you about my experience, let me tell you where I got my understanding of the learning process. It comes from the “ Conscious Competence ” learning model.

It is not clear who originated the very first ‘conscious competence’ learning model. Various modern authors are named, but sources as old as Confucius and Socrates are cited as possible earliest originators. But the model clearly explains the 4 stages you go through in your business. Not understanding these stages is the fundamental reason for the failure of a lot of training and teaching in the network marketing industry.

Now back to my surfing experience…

Each summer I would go on the lake and watch people surf and do wakeboarding. It looked so easy. I was at the ‘Unconsciously Incompetent ‘ stage (this is the fantasy stage – ‘Oh, I can do this, I’ve done snowboarding, surfing doesn’t look too hard’).

Next thing you know, my brother calls me and says “Stephane, come over I just bought a surf, let’s go try it.” That second stage is called ‘Consciously Incompetent ,’ (This is the reality stage: ‘Oh my God, what have I gotten myself into – this is so much harder than I thought.’).
